What’s the Easiest Flowers to Grow? – Easy Garden Flowers

Posted on May 15, 2021

What’s the easiest flower to grow for your landscaping plan? A popular flower garden question, especially amongst beginners is, “Which flower is the easiest flower to grow?” The answer varies depending on the gardener’s degree of involvement, and how much time and attention they are willing to spend tending their garden. I would not advise growing any flower in your garden that you can’t just pick a spade and plow into the ground and have the plant to start growing. There are so many variables that are involved in deciding which flower is the easiest to grow, it’s a matter of trial and error until you find the one that fits your style.

One factor that you should consider, and which many people overlook, is the type of soil you have in your garden. Some flowers do better in clay, while others do best in sand, etc. Do you have limestone, dolomite, granite or sand in your landscape (or do you know what all of those things are?) If you do, it might behoove you to think about planting some flowers that can only grow in those conditions.

What about an annual flower such as the Easter lily? I love this flower because it’s so easy to take care of. If you have ever read the labels of most landscape or garden plants, you will see that annuals are usually easier to grow than perennials or even biennials (which have a shorter lifespan). Annuals are also great for the landscape because many are available in various sizes, shapes and colors to fit with many landscaping styles. They’re a “must” in any design scheme.

A biennium is also an easy flower to grow. These plants typically bloom for two years. They are great for borders or other small spaces because they are very persistent. They don’t need much attention and, unlike some annuals, will continue to bloom until they die. So they are a great plant to add to a flower garden.

One plant that probably answers the question “What’s the easiest flower to grow?” is the tulip. The tulip started out as a garden flower around Europe about 200 years ago and is now a perennial. The tulip makes a great addition to a flower garden because of its tolerance to drought and heat. It blooms fairly frequently throughout the year and produces large clusters of flowers when planted from early spring until late summer.

There are quite a few varieties of tulips, all of which have beautiful flowers. Some tulips have darker colors, while others are more bluish-purple. The beauty of tulips lies in their wide variety of colors. Some of them have deep purple, indigo, and blue flowers; others have yellow, pink, white, or pale green blooms. Some tulip varieties bloom with exotic looking flowers, such as those shaped like frogs.

Another plant that is easy to grow is the gladiola. The gladiola can be planted anywhere except in difficult to reach areas because it likes to climb. It blooms on a regular schedule, from early spring to late summer. The only problem you might encounter is that the tulips won’t bloom during the colder months. During early spring, you can place the gladiola near fences or trellises to provide shade for your garden.

One plant that is also very easy to grow is the philodendron. This is a perennial that can grow up to three feet tall. Philodendrons love full sunlight and they are happiest in full sun. This means placing them under some larger trees. Philodendrons like moist soil, so if you use a pot that has good drainage, you will find your garden plants thrive.
